Baramulla Court Recruitment 2024 (eCourts.gov.in) New Notification

In 1947, the ADM Sub-Judge Court with jurisdiction over Muzaffarabad, Narbal, Gurez, Tangdar, and Tetwal was inaugurated. Subsequently, in 1956, the Munsiff Court Handwara, presided over by Gh Ahmad Tak, was established, followed by the inauguration of the Munsiff Court Sopore in 1957, covering Bandipora and Sonawari.

Baramulla Court

The judicial landscape expanded with the inauguration of the District Judge Court in Baramulla in August 1964, along with Munsiff Courts in Sumbal and Kupwara in October 1968. In 1979, Kupwara became a separate district, and its Munsiff Court was elevated to District Court with Ghulam Nabi Gowhar as the presiding officer.

Further additions include the inauguration of Munsiff Courts in Uri in 1966, Tangmarg in 1982, Pattan in 1987, and Gurez in September 2000. Notably, the Baramulla District & Sessions Court, along with additional courts, relocated to the New Court Complex near the D.I.G Office in September 2000, inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Chief Justice B.P. Saraf.
